Canada Offers Super Visa to Immigrants

Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Canada  may be happy to know  that the Canadian government recently announced a new type of visa for families. The "super visa" is a two-year, multi-entry" super visa" for the parents and grandparents of immigrants in Canada. It will be offered starting December 1.
It was planned after reports that the periods of sponsorship of "family class" applications in Canada took seven years or longer.

Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister, Jason Kenney said, "Without taking action, those times will continue to grow, and that is unacceptable. Action must be taken to cut the backlog, reduce the wait times, and ensure that the parents and grandparents program is sustainable over the long run."

According to reports, the multiple-entry "Parent and Grandparent Super Visa" will have a validity of up to 10 years. Super visa holders would also be allowed to stay in Canada for two years or 24 months before a visa renewal will be required.
