Visitor to Canada Insurance for New Super Visa

The new Super Visa announced on December 1st, 2011, is available to parents and grand-parents of permanent residents in Canada, and will help clear up the backlog of applications currently in process.

With these new rules, individuals must obtain a minimum of one year of visitor to Canada health insurance with a minimum of $100,0000 of coverage.

Manulife Financial has launched a new solution catering spefically to individuals entering Canada with a Super Visa.

With Manulife’s program, if an individual is unable to obtain visa for entry into Canada (so long as the refusal is beyond their control) and if they choose to leave the country before one year, they are eligible for a refund of the unused days. This refund will apply on the unused days as long as there are no pending claims and the balance owing is more than $25.
